I am a self-taught jewelry designer from Saginaw, Michigan. Ever since I was a child, I made my own clothes, costumes, and accessories. Most of my pieces were made from recycled components that I’ve altered to make wearable for my extremely sensitive skin. Since I can remember, I had a sensitivity to metal. Researching solutions that were inexpensive allowed me to experiment with different materials while studying fashion, art, and photography. Years of learning on my own, led me to develop my an aesthetic and method. For many years, I made pieces for myself out of personal necessity. It wasn’t until I moved to Chicago in 2015, was I acknowledged as a designer. Emerged among artists, a supportive community, and endless opportunities, Chicago opened doors for me and is where I started Priscilla Connelly Jewelry.
